Here’s Why James Corden Did Not Lose Weight On Ozempic

James has become the latest star to open up about their experience with the controversial medication.

In recent years, diabetic medication Ozempic has been in the headlines due to people — including celebrities — using it for its weight loss side effects.

While many stars are believed to have kept their Ozempic usage under wraps, some have publicly come forward to discuss their experience with the drug, which the FDA hasn’t actually approved for weight management.  


Sharon Osbourne has been one of the most vocal critics of Ozempic after she lost much more weight than she ever intended to while taking the drug.


Speaking on the British show Good Morning Britain, Sharon said that she is now keen to gain weight, but her body is “not listening” as a result of her Ozempic usage. 


She also said that her extreme weight loss had unsettled her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, and he is now “scared” for her health.

Chelsea Handler also admitted to using the drug, but said that she had no idea that she was even on it after her doctor simply prescribed her something to lose weight.

After suffering from nausea, Chelsea realized what it was and decided to stop taking it. 


She said on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I’m not gonna take a diabetic drug… I tried it, and I’m not going to do that. That’s not for me. That’s not right for me.”

And now, James Corden has opened up about his experience with Ozempic — which he said did not have the desired effect on him.

James joked about his Ozempic usage on his SiriusXM podcast This Life of Mine, saying to guest Richard Osman: “It won’t be surprising to you when you look at me now, that it didn’t really work.”

“All it does is make you feel not hungry. But I am very rarely eating [because of hunger],” he then explained. “You are looking at someone who’s eaten a king size — and when I say king size Dairy Milk, one you give someone for Christmas — in a carwash.”

“None of that was like: ‘Oh, I’m so hungry,’” James added. “It is not that, it’s something else.”


Having given up Ozempic, James also revealed that he is now considering quitting alcohol for his health. 


“I am finding myself at a period of my life where I'm feeling like it might be time,” he said. “Not that I think I'm overdoing it.”


"But I do feel in myself, it might be time to just stop now. I'm not sure I'm getting great benefits from this,” James went on. "I think it's time for me, personally."

James is currently filming the highly-anticipated final ever episode of his and Ruth Jones’s popular British sitcom Gavin & Stacey, which will air in the UK on Christmas Day.

It comes after he quit his role as host of The Late Late Show last year to spend more time with his family, and in his home country of England.
