Love Is Blind spoilers ahead.

Season 7 of Love Is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix, and it’s incredibly messy, to say the least.

If you aren’t aware, Love Is Blind is a dating show that sees a bunch of contestants aiming to fall in love and get married sight unseen. They form connections by communicating exclusively through “pods” and ultimately get engaged without knowing what their partner looks like.

And while reality TV fans often love a bit of drama, many LIB viewers have been disappointed with much of Season 7, namely due to the casting choices.

So far, we’ve seen one of the contestants, Monica, find “sexual” texts to another woman on her fiancé Stephen’s phone, as well as another cast member, Tyler, revealing to his fiancée, Ashley, two weeks before their wedding that he fathered three children as a sperm donor for a friend. He claimed to be “uninvolved” in the kids’ lives, though a TikTok user has since posted a video with screenshots alleging he’s an “active father” to them.

As a result, the partners of said men were understandably left heartbroken.

Given that the whole point of the show is to get married, viewers have since expressed their frustration at the producers for casting “unserious” contestants — something that has been a topic of conversation for quite some time now.

In 2022, Season 2 contestants Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced that they were divorcing — a year after they married on the show.

Iyanna broke down in tears in a TikTok video as she discussed how heartbroken she was, especially as she sadly faced cruel mockery from the public when the split was announced. Before he proposed to Iyanna, Jarrette was emotionally invested in a different contestant, who turned him down.

“And as much as people laugh at how long we were married, I think my expectations made it real, my hope made it real. My effort made it real, my tears made it real,” Iyanna said.

“I’m crying for that girl that I was at the beginning of this marriage. I was so hopeful, and I had less baggage, and I was optimistic, and I was healed,” she said. “I’m crying for that marriage that I thought could work; I’m crying for that man I believed he was… That man he convinced me he was in the beginning.”

Iyanna’s vulnerability left several LIB viewers devastated and sparked a discussion about the heartbreak endured by some contestants of the show. In fact, some social media users wound up branding the series “televised trauma” and calling for the whole thing to end.

More recently, the show's casting has been labeled “lazy” after multiple Season 6 contestants were accused of secretly being in relationships while filming.

And this discourse has been reignited as Season 7 airs, with several fans calling out the LIB producers for casting “unserious” contestants.

“Maybe I’m in the minority but respectfully, fuck the casting people for #LoveIsBlind7 I’m exhausted of the mess. I want love matches maybe a little dash of miscommunication but all this fraudulent shit gotta go,” one person wrote on X.

“it’s so heartbreaking to see women getting done dirty over and over on the show… and they can’t say that these men’s secrets are hard to find either cause TikTok agents be exposing them as soon as the episodes come out,” another viewer said.

“#LoveIsBlind need to start giving consequences to people who clearly had no intention to get married. Like they are playing with people’s heart, vulnerability, trust for 15 minutes of fame plus you wasting money,” someone posted, while someone else questioned, “We can take one villain per season. Why all the men on this latest season moving like Pennywise?”

“Everyone knows the premise of the show now & folks show up image conscious with agendas. I’m not sure if it’ll ever be genuine again like the first few seasons. The UK version came pretty close. These couples are unserious & beyond messy,” someone suggested.

Meanwhile, some users accused the LIB casting team of purposefully casting so-called “messy” contestants for “entertainment purposes.”

“I’m starting to believe that the producers are purposely doing this to these ppl. Ain’t no way they don’t no who are they are casting. I’m really starting to see them for who they are. Playing w/ ppl’s heart just for entertainment purposes,” one tweet read.

Yiiiikes. Well, it remains to be seen which Season 7 couples will tie the knot. Drop your predictions in the comments below, and LMK what you make of the casting choices.
