If there is one thing that Sabrina Carpenter has become renowned for over the last two years, it’s the tradition surrounding her hit song “Nonsense.”
In fact, during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Sabrina took the opportunity to shut down the misconception that she is “just obnoxiously horny,” adding: “In reality, writing [the outros] comes from the ability to not be fearful of your sexuality as opposed to just not being to put it down.”
The first show of Sabrina’s highly-anticipated sell-out tour was in Columbus, Ohio, and while fans were thrilled to learn that “Nonsense” had made the 19-song setlist, they were caught off guard by the incredibly clever way that Sabrina chose to officially retire the outros.
At the end of the song, when she’d usually begin the surprise ad-lib, Sabrina pretended to keep singing as she disappeared beneath the stage — but no sound came out of her microphone.
Overall, fans were seriously impressed by Sabrina’s opening night, with the staging, costumes, and setlist all being praised as people watched it unfold on social media.
